Preheat oven to 350℉
Mix Guinness, buttermilk, and molasses in a bowl. Add ¾ cup rolled oats and let sit.
In a smaller bowl, put 2 tbsp of rolled oats in some of the leftover Guinness from the can and let sit.
In a larger bowl, mix flour, wheat germ, baking soda, and salt. Make a hole in the center.
Add melted butter to larger bowl of oats. Mix well so butter doesn't solidify.
Immediately start to mix into dry ingredients. Don't over mix. Put into loaf pan.
Take oats out of smaller bowl and spread across loaf top. Discard remaining Guinness.
Bake for 1 hour. Loaf is done when internal temperature is about 200℉.
Remove from loaf pan and wrap in damp tea towel. Let cool on wire rack.
